  • EL PAÍS, the Spanish daily with the highest circulation. It implements promotional actions involving high levels of investment and profit margins that have a strong impact on newspaper sales. Such projects can be readily adapted to new markets. El País increased its circulation by 6.5% in the first quarter of 2008 selling 465,457 copies, and it has consolidated its pre-eminent position over its main rival, widening the gap between their respective circulation to over 140,000.
  • Le Monde, the Grupo PRISA activities in the area of international press received a major boost in 2005 following its decision to raise its stake (up to 18%) in the Groupe Le Monde et Partenaires Associés (MPA), which publishes the prestigious French daily Le Monde
  • Santillana, one of the biggest Spanish-speaking publishing houses. It boasts an extensive editorial team, presence in 22 Latin American countries and a team specializing in national and international rights negotiations.
  • GRUPO PRISA purchase board, through which we leverage the negotiating power of the group to secure competitive prices on raw materials and end products.
  • The Grupo Prisa is involved in the following areas: Education and training

    Committed to education. Revenues from books and training have increased by 16.7% up to 138.81 million euros. The results in Brazil (+31.0%), Argentina (+21.1%) and Peru (+15.4%) were particularly outstanding.

    A key reference. Revenues from sales of newspapers and magazines grew by 7.4% thanks to increased circulation of El País (+6.5%) and AS (+7.1%).

    Media Capital increased its net profits by 58% and maintains its leadership as the foremost TV channel in Portugal with TVI enjoying an average daily audience share of 34.7%. Over the first quarter of the year, Media Capital’s turnover amounted to 53.42 million euros.
